Siscia is the modern-day city of Sisak, Croatia. In Roman times, it was a major city in Upper Pannonia was was situated on an island in the middle of the Savus River. It was described by both Pliny and Strabo. It became part of the Roman Empire when it was captured by Tiberius during the reign of Augustus.
It was an imperial mint from 262 to 383 CE. With the rise of Sirmium, Siscia’s importance diminished.
