As is typical with very rare cities in coinage, not a lot is known about Echinos. From this coin, it was obviously a colony of Corinth, due to the presence of Pegasus and a soldier in a Corinthian helmet. This type is typical from former Corinthian colonies.

It was founded by a legendary figure named Echinos, though I haven’t found any information about him.
