Rev: ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΑΤΩΝ ΛΥ, Athena standing right, holding spear and resting hand on grounded shield.

Apollonia Mordiaeum was originally known only as “Mordiaion”, before it added the Apollonia part. Interestingly, this coin doesn’t depict Apollo, but Athena.
The territory of Mordiaion was at the border of Phrygia and Pisidia, and was thus a mix of both. Numerous inscriptions have been found at the site, intriguingly consisting heavily of funerary door stones.
