Rev: ΔIOC K[A]TЄBATOV / KVPHCTΩN, Hexastyle temple of Zeus Kataibates, within which is the god seated facing, holding a thunderbolt and sceptre, eagle at his feet; above temple, ram leaping left, head right.

Cyrrhus was founded by Seleukos I Nikator and became part of the Roman Empire when Pompey took Syria in 64 BCE. The Legio X Fretensis was eventually housed there.
Today, many of the ruins remain, though significant looting has occurred.
