Holmoi is mentioned in Strabo as where the residents of Seleukeia ad Kalykadnon used to live.
Pictured on the coin are Athena and Apollo Sarpedonios. Sarpedon was a son of Zeus who fought on the side of Troy in the Trojan War. There is mention of a Temple to Apollo Sarpedonios and another one to Artemis Sarpedonios at Kalykadnos Seleukeia. Most likely they were worshipped for some time earlier, as is attested on this coin.
Sarpedon died while fighting Patroklos. Zeus debated sparing him, but then Hera reminded him that other gods’ sons were also fighting and were destined to die as well. Therefore, he had to be a good example and let Sarpedon die where he was fated.
