Daldis was located on the border between Lycia and Phrygia and minted a great number of Roman provincial coins. Artemidoros, who wrote a still-extant work on divining dreams, was born and grew up in Daldis.
On the obverse of this coin is Demos, who symbolized the ruling body of citizens. Thus, Daldis must have had some pseudo-autonomous rule for a period. Not much is known about the city outside of its coins.
