In Greek mythology, Hypereia is a lesser-known nymph associated with water, often linked to a specific spring or river. As a figure from the mythology surrounding the natural world, Hypereia is sometimes mentioned in connection with the spring of Hypereia, a freshwater source located in the region of Arcadia. This spring was believed to have been sacred to the goddess Artemis, and in certain myths, Hypereia is said to be a companion or attendant of Artemis, one of the many nymphs who served the goddess of the hunt and the wilderness.
