The ancient Teanum Sidicinum is modern day Teano and was the Oscan capital of the Sidicini (hence the name).
The city surrendered to Rome very early in history – in 334 BCE – and was given the privilege to mint its own coins. Through the times of Hannibal and other wars it remained loyal to Rome.
Remains from the Roman times can still be seen.
