Although not all statues and temples depicted on coins actually existed, since some were symbolic, I find it difficult to believe that a city called Heracleopolis wouldn’t have a statue of Herakles somewhere. Thus, my belief is this statue actually existed.
Was it surrounded by two temples? Maybe, maybe not. It’s also unknown who sculpted it, since little is known of the ancient city.
