As far as we know, the Perrhaiboi were more of a people than a city, though they must have had some organization to mint coins. These are numerous and in both silver and copper, so the people must have had some wealth.
They lived on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, although their territory is usually listed as Thessaly. An ancient culture, they fought in the Trojan War and also joined on the Persian side in Xerxes’ invasion. In 344 BCE, they were incorporated into Philip II’s Macedon, and it appears their coinage stopped until they were given independence in the 2nd century BCE.
I’m uncertain of the connection between Hera and Zeus and the Perrhaiboi, but presumably one of their antics must have taken place there.
