After Alexander died, Antigonos I Monophthalmos took Tralleis, and it later went to the Seleukids. It was during their time that this coin was minted in the name of Seleukeia. It must have been renamed only for a short period since these coins are rare and this one may be the best known.

A theodoric transcription from Delphi mentions Tralleis as Seleukeia and dates to around 230 BCE. Strabo mentioned it as a prosperous trading center during his time. Much later, the architect of the Hagia Sophia was born in Tralleis.
