Orthosia was the site of an ancient battle of the Rhodians over the Carians. We also know that it was located near Alabanda, but that’s about it. Hellenistic coinage from Orthosia is extremely rare, though its Roman provincial coinage is more common.

167 BCE

Mylasa with the help of Alabanda takes Euromos from Rhodes and advances towards Orthosia, but are defeated.
