Nesos, also called Nasos, may or may not have been the same city as Pordosilene. Most scholars believe this to be the case, since the name Pordosilene literally means ‘fart of the goddess Silene’ and was distasteful even in ancient times.

However, there is some evidence that the city renamed itself back to Proselene, so we’re not entirely sure. Regardless, most believe that one or both cities was on the modern day Alibey Island.
