Kolonides was a small city that, when interviewed by Pausanias, insisted they were not Messenians but were instead led from Attica. According to Plutarch, it was near Kolonides that the Achaian general Philopoemen was captured in relief, that Livy disputes that.

It was not far from Asine at 40 stadia, or about five miles.
