Caesaria Panias is now the modern-day city of Banias in the Golan Heights. It’s located near a natural spring that had long been associated with Pan and was occupied for 2000 years until depopulated during the Six-Day War.
The location was mentioned in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark and is today a site of pilgrimage for Christians.
These days the area is part of a nature reserve in Israel.
