Today, the location of the ancient city of Attaleia is unknown. The spot on the map is simply an educated guess.
It was an important city within the Roman Empire, but now it’s known only through its coins.
Clearly, like many ancient cities, it was professed to have some relationship with Herakles, based on this coin.
