Shelamyah is believed to have been governor of Samaria and a son of Sanballat and brother to Delayah, who are believed to also have been governors and minted their own coins.

This coin wasn’t originally attributed to Shelamyah, but has a better quality inscription than other examples. Due to the quality of the inscription, it appears to be the same as those already attributed to Shelamyah.
