Iulia Traducta is the modern day city of Algeciras, Spain. That city was actually abandoned for three centuries, before being refounded in 1704.
Ancient Iulia Traducta was heavily influenced by the neighboring city of Carteia, and served as a stopping point between Malaka and Gades. Although there was a settlement, it was barely mentioned, since it was a mere stopover.
The Romans later founded the colony of Iulia Traducta on the spot around the time of Augustus, and coinage begins from this period.
