Adraa today is the city of Daraa, Syria, located close to the Jordan border. It is an ancient city, having been mentioned by Thutmose III of Egypt between 1490-1436 BCE and in the Hebrew Torah as Edrei, where the Israelites defeated the Og. Eldad and Medad, who prophesized for the Israelites, were buried there.

In Hellenistic times it became known as Adraa, and was incorporated into the Roman province of Arabia Petraea. The city suffered greatly during the Syrian civil war.
